Whether squeezing paint from a tube, running my fingers through skeins of wool, or enjoying vistas of sky and open trails – I am inspired by colour. Colour can affect a mood. It can provide energy. It can tell stories. I enjoy playing with a kaleidoscope of hues in paint and textiles.
Light to Shadow
I find colour and light uplifting, but shades of mist and grey can feel oppressive. Having two close family members with macular degeneration disease, I have come to value even more the possibilities afforded to the sighted, and the limits imposed when shadow narrows one’s views. This chair was painted to reflect the shrinking of the world that happens when sight diminishes.
