Gabrielle Ranger, Artist
Gabrielle Ranger is an emerging artist based in Waterdown, where she has lived for the majority of her 26 years. I work primarily with acrylic paint, however, Her style has been described as being impressionist with an element of contemporary vibrancy and realism. She enjoys painting with many mediums but prefers acrylics. Gabrielle has painted on a variety of subjects; some include, canvases, murals, found objects, and chairs. The themes of her work often revolve around nature and animals.

Metamorphosis 2024
“Metamorphosis 2024” came from the idea of community and life’s cyclical nature. On the double muskoka chair, you can find caterpillars growing into butterflies symbolically showing how we start off by crawling and may need help to blossom into a beautiful butterfly. Amongst the community of butterflies, there are a few with broken wings, representing as life changes we adapt with the support of others waiting in the wings to help. An element that I think is fitting when discussing our community.
