The Friendship Chair

The yellow friendship bench initiative is part of a Canada wide #YellowIsForHello campaign founded by Sam Fiorella to encourage young people to have peer-to-peer conversations about mental health after losing his son Lucas Fiorella by suicide in 2014. Inspired by Tom Thomsons The Jack Pine, this was a collaborative effort with kids from Waterdown and Flamborough including Dean Wurtele and Rhys Dailey, led by Artfully You’s Julie Wurtele who teaches art in Waterdown and surrounding areas.
