140+ reasons to visit Waterdown Village this fall!

Scarecrows return to Waterdown Village streets beginning Thanksgiving weekend. They’re big, bold and creative and this year, there are more than ever to be found with 120-plus local businesses and nearly 20 community partner organizations participating.

“Families love walking downtown Waterdown in the fall to see all the scarecrows and look for clues randomly placed throughout the Business Improvement Area for a chance to win shopping spree prizes,” says Amanda Groves, Chair of the Waterdown Village BIA. “We can’t wait to see what our members and partners create for this year’s invasion.”

2025 represents the 9th year the BIA has hosted its popular Scarecrow and Treat & Pet Walks.

Scarecrow displays will be erected by the Friday of Thanksgiving weekend and stay up until Halloween. Frames are decorated to reflect seasonal and cultural trends or to match the nature of participating businesses. Look for movie themes, ghouls, monsters, celebrity scarecrows, sports icons and more. No two scarecrows are alike.

Brochures with maps to guide hunters are usually distributed to Waterdown postal codes by mail. Due to ongoing postal disruptions, we look forward to starting a local ‘Twilight Bark’ through YOUR network of friends and families to help get the word out. Brochures can be picked up at participating businesses and organizations or at the BIA office. You can also find brochures on Saturday mornings at the Waterdown Farmers’ Market until the season wraps on October 18.
