1st Annual WABIA Award Winners

Thank you to all who joined us at Mill Street & 5 The American this past Tuesday for the BIA Annual General Meeting. It was a fun evening of networking and celebrating the Waterdown Village business community’s 2024 accomplishments.

Much gratitude goes out to Drew Paget, Chris and the entire Mill Street & 5 team for their welcoming hospitality.

The Gary Titley Lifetime Achievement Award

This award is named for Gary Titley who passed away and was the longest serving volunteer on the BIA board of management. It is awarded to an individual who has at least 10 years’ experience operating in the BIA district, has a solid business reputation and exhibits an exceptional commitment to community through sponsorships, volunteerism and engagement with BIA activities.

Amber has established strong relationships with her patients, building rapport and trust. She has trained and mentored many young students and practitioners. Amber volunteers for local and international organizations, sponsors local hockey teams and is a regular participant in BIA activities.

Peach Coffee Co.
New Member Impact Award

This award is presented to a new BIA business that opened with a strong marketing plan and has engaged with the BIA and community partners to establish themselves as emerging leaders in the commercial district.

Peach Coffee Co. transformed the back terrace at their location and recently expanded to include indoor seating. Their strong social media presence helped expand the BIA’s reach and delivered the BIA’s largest one-day follower gain in 2024.

Pickwick Books
Innovation Award

This award is presented to a BIA member who is a leader in the business community and demonstrates innovation through the products and services they offer, the technologies they adopt and/or the way they present their business.

Pickwick Books uses several platforms and unique ways to reach customers here and across Canada including book box subscriptions, book box deliveries and advent calendar book boxes. Pickwick uses digital platforms to facilitate ordering, communicate with customers, list collectible books and curate audiobook collections.

The Printing Korner
Client Service Award

This award is presented to a service-focused BIA member who consistently goes above and beyond to meet and exceed their customers’ expectations.

The Printing Korner offers a variety of photocopying and specialty printing solutions. The team remains focused on finding the most efficient way to run a job to meet customers’ price and deadline expectations. They often work extra time to ensure customer satisfaction.
