BIA Businesses Shine Bright

It’s awards season in Hamilton and we’re thrilled to acknowledge the achievements of several Waterdown Village businesses recently recognized by both the Hamilton and Flamborough Chambers of Commerce. 

BIA AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE

On Wednesday, March 29, Fortinos Waterdown and Michelle My Belle Bridal Salon were celebrated for their outstanding contributions to beautifying Waterdown Village at a BIA event ahead of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Business Award gala.

Fortinos Franchisee, Miklos Kanalas, joined by local and head office colleagues, was presented with a Façade Improvement Award of Excellence, recognizing the spectacular renovation of his expansive Waterdown grocery store.

Michelle My Belle Owners

Michelle, Angie and Frank Del Monte from Michelle My Belle also received a Façade Improvement Award of Excellence for the build of their stunning bridal salon on Dundas Street which has become a jewel in the downtown streetscape.

Birmingham Consulting Inc. was a finalist, nominated in the Small Business Category at the Hamilton Chamber award ceremony. Read more about Award of Excellence accomplishments in the News HERE.

FLAMBOROUGH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OUTSTANDING BUSINESS AWARDS

On Wednesday, April 5, the Flamborough Chamber of Commerce (FCC) held its annual Outstanding Business Awards and several Waterdown Village businesses were honoured.

It was a big night for the Birmingham Consulting Inc. group who were nominated and won the Outstanding Small Business Award and for Christina Birmingham, who received the 2023 FCC Award for her tireless support of local businesses and the Flamborough community at large. Six additional Waterdown Village businesses were amongst the nominees for various awards. Congratulations to Jayne Scala of Dairy Queen Waterdown for her nomination in the Lifetime Achievement category and to CBY Academy of Performing Arts, Rustic Daisy’s, The Royal Coachman and Waterdown IDA for their nominations in community support, entrepreneur of the year, large business and small business categories. 

We are pleased and grateful for the recognition the Waterdown Village BIA received in the FCC Community Support category. This award represents the collective accomplishments of BIA members, BIA board directors and BIA staff in delivering programs that help build a vibrant downtown.
