May is a great time to shed winter layers and freshen up. We’re excited to share a few ways you can get outside, celebrate spring and show your love for Waterdown Village.
Then, it’s Mother’s Day weekend in Waterdown Village (May 9 and 10).
Doing some spring cleaning around your home? The Lions Club of Waterdown has partnered with the Waterdown Village BIA to set-up for e-waste recycling collection in the Legion parking lot during the CommUNITY Renewal event. After you’ve dropped off your old electronics (see the list of acceptable items HERE) consider picking up a garbage bag for to join the Renewal cleanup.
Let mom put her feet up for some love and pampering on Sunday. Don’t forget to make reservations to take her out for a lovely brunch or dinner at one of the many Waterdown Village cafes or restaurants. Or pick up ingredients, delicious baked goods or pre-made meals from nearby grocery stores, specialty shops or bakeries to spoil her at home. You’ll find gifts galore depending on her personality type – from home goods, clothes, accessories, power tools or spa-day gift cards – right in your own backyard. You can find it all in Waterdown Village.
Can we get a drumroll for one of our favourite days of the year? On Saturday, May 23rd, the Waterdown Farmers’ Market returns for its lucky 13th season. Opening Day at the Market always feels like the unofficial start of the summer here in Waterdown Village. We’re looking forward to welcoming local growers, small batch producers, artisans, buskers and YOU back to the Legion parking lot on Saturday mornings from May 23 until mid-October. Berries and seedlings and music and more – catch all the opening day activities including kick-off greetings and entertainment at 10 AM. And, you won’t want to miss the Flamborough Horticultural Society’s Annual Plant Sale.
