Reconnect at the Waterdown Farmers’ Market

Seedlings are sprouting. Spring greens are leafing. Sweet treats are baking. Are you ready to celebrate the unofficial start of summer?

The Waterdown Farmers Market returns to the Waterdown Legion for its 11th season starting Saturday, May 25 and running until mid-October.

Meet with 30+ local farmers, food vendors and entrepreneurs as they set up shop in the Legion parking lot every Saturday morning between 8 AM and 1 PM. Vendor offerings include local produce, meats and eggs direct from the farm, plus baked goods, preserves, VQA Ontario wines and more. We’re excited to welcome 6 new growers and half a dozen new food makers, expanding offerings to now include mushrooms, dairy products, vegan treats and more diverse ethnic flavours.

Besides providing a unique shopping experience, the Waterdown Farmers’ Market also serves as the backdrop for wonderful community gatherings. We invite neighbours to get outside and reconnect. Whether meeting up in the food court for breakfast, sharing a morning coffee while they browse or enjoying live entertainment in the busker corner, the Farmers’ Market is the perfect place to convene for ‘Stay Local Saturdays’. Weekly activities in the Kids’ Corner help little ones learn more about where the foods they eat come from.

Join us for special Opening Day celebrations. The fan-favourite Flamborough Horticultural Society’s Annual Plant Sale returns for May 25, while student performers from the CBY Academy of Performing Arts, Waterdown Music Academy and the Waterdown District High School Concert Band are also tuning up for the occasion. Official kick-off ceremony starts at 10 AM. There’s something for everyone from food lovers to backyard gardeners to fun-seeking families.
