Who’s ready to shake off the vestiges of a long, hard-fought winter? Snowbanks have melted and the ground is thawing, giving way for Waterdown Village to burst forward into a new season of green and life. Local service clubs, partner organizations and the businesses of Waterdown are celebrating the official arrival of spring with programs sure to entice us out of hibernation. Here are some spirit-boosting activities coming to Waterdown Village soon.
The Waterdown Comedy Festival, hosted by the Waterdown Lions Club, returns to Memorial Hall on Saturday, March 28 with veteran comics Paul Haywood, Aaron Wry and Ian Sirota set to evoke peals of laughter.

On Thursday, April 2, it’s the Heritage Pub Walk with Lyn Lunsted and Nathan Tidridge of the Flamborough Archives and Heritage Society, in partnership with the Village’s oldest pubs, telling stories of our community’s past over a pint or two and some fabulous food sampling.

For the little ones, the egg drops on Good Friday, April 3, when the annual Waterdown Easter Egg Hunt at Memorial Park, led by the Waterdown Lions Club and with support of local businesses, rolls out at Memorial Park starting at 10 AM.

The curtain rises on Village Theatre Waterdown’s spring production of the 2013 Tony Award® for Best Play, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike on Friday, April 17. Weekend evening and matinee performances run through until May 3. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll cycle through a gambit of emotions. We’re looking for volunteers with lots of energy who take pride in the place they call home to help us ‘Team Up to Clean Up’ and whip local community garden beds into shape. You can join the Clean Up crew to clean our downtown streets of litter and winter debris or be a part of the Green Thumb crew edging, weeding and mulching downtown gardens.

The Rotary Club of Waterdown is launching a new Community Grant Program with funding up to $1,000 for fresh ideas to make our community stronger, kinder and/or more connected. Individuals and non-profit groups can apply for community projects and initiatives that make a positive impact. Apply online by May 31, 2026.
