Waterdown Village brightens main streets with the support of My Main Street

The Waterdown Village Business Improvement Area (BIA) is thrilled to announce that our Chairing is Caring (CIC) placemaking project was selected for the My Main Street Community Activator initiative to receive support to help tell stories of the diverse communities that make up Waterdown Village.

The summer 2024 CIC placemaking initiative that saw 18 original artworks land on Waterdown main streets in the form of painted Muskoka chairs, wrapped in September. The Legacy phase of CIC will see permanent artworks installed on four benches in the Village this fall.

The impact of the Chairing is Caring project has been greatly enhanced because of the My Main Street program, delivered by the Canadian Urban Institute (CUI), and supported by a Government of Canada investment through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).
