Yes, we’re sad to know patio days are waning along with the blooms on summer flowers, but we’re also pretty excited another favourite season is upon us. Village streets will remain bright through October with the arrival of mums and pumpkins – and the much anticipated return of scarecrows! That’s right – the population of Waterdown Village is set to burst by more than 100 just in time for Thanksgiving. That’s when the 6th Annual Scarecrow Walk kicks off, bringing festive autumnal decoration, scavenger hunt fun and the possibility of prizes for adventurous Waterdown walkers.
Come see the amazing and unique scarecrows our local businesses and community organizations have created. Look for fall clues. Vote for the scarecrows you like best for your chance to win gift certificates and shopping spree prizes. The Scarecrow Walk has quickly become a favourite fall family activity you won’t want to miss.
But wait, we have even more up our sleeves! On October 29, delightfully dressed-up live (and walking dead) creatures will descend upon our sidewalks as local businesses invite costumed kids and pets and zombies to participate in the annual Waterdown Village Treat Walk. Ghosts, goblins and goodies galore – oh my! Whether you are a little one, have a little one, or want to watch dressed-up little ones, fur babies and dancing zombies parade around town – there’s something for everyone to see and do.
Find more details about these activities, including a map of participating businesses, in the 2022 Scarecrow Walk brochure available for pick-up in Village businesses and coming by Canada Post to Waterdown postal codes.
Our businesses can’t wait to see you!
