Winterdown is Coming!

Waterdown Village businesses are excited to welcome the holiday season with Winterdown celebrations that will light up downtown streets on Black Friday for the arrival of Santa and continue through December.

Join our business community on Friday, November 29 for the annual tree lighting in the heritage core of Waterdown. That’s the evening you’ll be able to kickstart your holiday shopping with Shop Late ‘til 8 PM specials at participating retailers. Downtown streets around Memorial Hall and Chestnut Grove (EarlyOn Centre at 315 Dundas St. E.) will sparkle to life with horse-drawn wagon rides, live music, light displays, carollers and a special appearance of the Ice Queen. Inside Memorial Hall there will be special kids’ activities, a mini-interactive market experience, wreath-decorating workshops (pre-register with Ridgeway Florists), more music and even a live gingerbread house making contest. And of course – Santa! Even if it’s cold outside, you’ll be able to warm up by visiting shops and restaurants or popping inside the Hall. Walk Waterdown on November 29 to enjoy all the fun and catch the holiday spirit. Details (including tips for where to park) can be found here. Watch for more Black Friday Specials to be added

Holiday celebrations continue the next weekend with Winterdown Kids on Saturday, December 7. That’s day the Village focuses the magic of the season on the little ones. This year’s event takes place upstairs at the Royal Canadian Legion and will feature a singalong with Mr. Ben and a magic show with Alan Q. There will also be crafts, face painting, and treats.
